Disengaging overload system

The KTR-SI FRE is a torque-limiting and disengaging overload system which operates using a form fit. Upon reaching the set torque, the coupling disengages. Drive and output remain separated due to the disengaging mechanism. Centrifugal masses which are still in motion can coast down freely Re-engaging takes place manually.

Highlights

  • High repeat accuracy
  • Flange mounting for mounting of toothed belt pulleys or sprockets
  • Can be combined with ROTEX®, GEARex® or RADEX®-N

Functional description

Disengaging elements are at the heart of the KTR-SI FRE. In the event of an overload, they decouple the drive and output. As soon as the overload has been eliminated, the disengaging elements are manually (plastic hammer/tyre lever) re-engaged and the drive re-enabled.

The setting for the desired triggering torque takes place for every disengaging element. Via an adjusting nut, a corresponding initial stress is set on the disk spring. The number of disengaging elements depends on the triggering torque required.
