Transport belts

Toothed belts for transport applications

Belts with a trapezoidal tooth shape are particularly suited to transport applications. In particular, when the load is transported on the back of the belt, trapezoidal tooth shapes are to be preferred over round tooth shapes.

Transport belts can be combined with the most diverse of welded-on profiles and coatings for optimum handling of your transport task. As such, these belts are ideally suited to applications in the field of intralogistics or in packaging machines.

Profiles

Our range of profiles consists of around 3,000 shapes and designs. This allows us to find the right profile for every transport application. The toothed belt profiles are made of heavy-duty cast polyurethane. Our application technicians would be happy to advise you.

Coatings

Most belt types can be modified with a coating in order to achieve variations in the coefficient of friction, abrasion resistance, or compressibility. We offer a wide range of different coatings made of polyurethane, elastomers, foam, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as well as special coatings in order to provide the best solution for all of your applications and projects. All coatings can be subjected to mechanical post-processing according to customer requirements in order to customise the belt to your requirements.

Polyurethane coatings

PU coatings are among the most abrasion-proof, heavy-duty, and durable coatings, and are available in various coating thicknesses and coating hardnesses. They are applied to the belt via a welding process.

Features

  • Excellent traction
  • Good abrasion resistance
  • Good resistance against chemicals and solvents
  • Very good resistance to oils and greases
  • Also available with FDA and EU food approval

Applications

  • Stone processing industry
  • Woodworking industry
  • Glass processing industry
  • Sheet metal processing industry
  • Cardboard packaging transport
  • Packaging industry
  • Haul-off and feed-in applications
  • Ascending conveyors

Elastomer coatings

Due to a high coefficient of friction, temperature resistance, and good abrasion resistance, elastomers are used in a wide range of applications, primarily in the wood, glass, paper, and ceramic industries. Elastomer coatings are applied to the belt via an adhesive process.

Features

  • Excellent traction
  • Good abrasion resistance
  • Good resistance to temperature and weathering effects
  • Flexible at low temperatures
  • Available with FDA approval

Applications

  • Woodworking industry
  • Sheet metal processing industry
  • Paper processing industry
  • Textile processing industry
  • Packaging machines
  • Haul-off and feed-in applications
  • Pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry

Foam coatings

Thanks to their geometrical adaptability, foam coatings are used in the glass, paper, textile, and timber industries. Foam coatings are applied to the belt via an adhesive process.

Features

  • Highly compressible with good abrasion resistance
  • Excellent traction
  • Good resistance against chemicals and solvents
  • Good resistance to oils and greases

Applications

  • Paper processing industry
  • Film processing industry
  • Woodworking industry
  • Glass processing industry
  • Labelling machines
  • Haul-off and feed-in applications
  • Vacuum applications
  • Cleaning / filling applications

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coatings

Due to their diverse coating properties, our PVC coatings are used in the glass, ceramic, wood, and packaging industries. In certain cases, existing FDA and EU approvals allow them to be used in the food and hygiene industries. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coatings are applied to the belt via an adhesive process.

Features

  • Good resistance to acids and chemicals
  • Good weather resistance
  • Highly adhesive
  • Available with FDA and EU approval
  • Various surface structures such as Supergrip or saw tooth available

Applications

  • Woodworking industry
  • Glass processing industry
  • Packaging machines
  • Pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry
  • Stone processing industry
  • Paper processing industry
  • Labelling machines

In addition to the most common standard coatings, special coatings of all kinds are available, such as Novovlies and chrome leather coatings. They are applied to the belt via an adhesive process.

Polyamide fabric

Polyamide fabric on the tooth and / or rear side reduces the friction factor and ensures smooth, improved operating characteristics. Polyamide fabric is already applied to the belt during the extrusion process.

Features

  • Low friction factor
  • High wear resistance
  • Good sliding characteristics
  • Low-noise belt operation
  • Good resistance to oils and greases

Applications

  • Materials handling
  • Accumulating conveying system

Special fabrics, such as ECO fabric on the tooth and rear side impart anti-static properties, an extremely low friction factor, and depending on the application can triple the service life in comparison to our standard Polyamide fabric.
